Telepark's Teamslide 1.8 for Live Web Presentations: Skype Teleconferencing and New Remote Features
Posted on: Friday, 23 June 2006, 09:00 CDT
telepark today introduced teamslide 1.8, a new version of its cross-platform web presentation product designed for professionals and small to medium-sized enterprises. teamslide 1.8 adds Skype VoIP (voice over internet protocol) support and new productivity enhancements to present PowerPoint slides to one or more viewers using nothing but a web browser - across all leading web browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux.
"teamslide 1.8 is the first AJAX-based, cross-platform web presentation solution and the first to integrate Skype Voice-over-IP telephony for teleconferencing. It marks a huge leap forward with additional Remote URL and Remote Highlighting features and makes live web presentations more effective and simple to use than ever," said Patrick Thomas, CEO of telepark.
Remote Highlight: Get to the point
The new Remote Highlight feature of teamslide 1.8 allows users to highlight key points in a slide. It supports both, a pointer type of operation and the interactive drawing of a rectangular box around any slide area. All participants immediately see the moderators highlight, be it the pointer, the box or both simultaneously.
Remote URL: Live website link suggestions
With Remote URL, the moderator or presenter can send an arbitrary URL to all participants as a link suggestion in addition to the on-going live presentation. The participants get asked whether they accept to open the suggested web page in a new browser window and can acknowledge this by a simple click of the mouse. A very handy feature to easily invoke external website content such as a press article or a Macromedia Flash presentation from within teamslide.
Combine teamslide with Skype
teamslide 1.8 is the first cross-platform, AJAX-based web presentation solution to integrate the worlds leading Voice over IP (VoIP) provider, Skype. Participants can enter their Skype names for the presenter to call them over VoIP with a single click. teamslide presentation invitations can be sent as Skype instant messages as well as by email directly from within teamslide.
Background improvements
The new teamslide 1.8 features dozens of background improvements to further enhance performance, security and ease of use. Among them is support for auto-login, dynamic presentation folders, and an improved support for Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS) webserver. Further enhancements have also been made to teamslide's Mac OSX support.
teamslide pricing starts at $99 for the single-user package. This is a one-time license fee, not a monthly subscription price.
Quotes
"The phenomenal response to teamslide as the first truly cross-platform web presentation solution has prompted us to up the ante," said Stefan Ganz, CTO of telepark. "We listened to our customers and are happy to answer their top-3 requests with teamslide 1.8 barely two months after the original launch of teamslide."
