Digital Lightwave(R), Inc., a leading provider of optical networking test equipment and technology, announced today the signing of Advanced Technical Marketing, Inc. (ATM) as sales representative for the Northeast corridor. All Digital Lightwave products will be available through ATM including the complete NIC(R) and OWM(R) product lines, chromatic dispersion instruments, OTDR's, and fiber-characterization instruments. ATM will be covering the states of New York, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
"Partnering with proven industry leaders like Advanced Technical Marketing increases our market penetration into vital territories," said Ted Myers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Lightwave. "With this arrangement we are able to increase our exposure to new customers as well as supporting existing customers. ATM has a track record of success and established relationships with important carriers, equipment manufacturers, labs and educational institutions."
Customers in the Northeast will be able to purchase Digital Lightwave products through ATM beginning immediately.
The NIC (Network Information Computer) platform, consisting of NIC 2.5G(R), NIC 10G(R), NIC GigE(R), NIC Plus(R) and NIC EP(R) (Embedded Platform) is a line of portable test instruments supporting Ethernet (10/100/1000, GigE, 10GigE LAN, 10GigE WAN), PDH (DS1, E1, E3, DS3, E4), SONET/SDH (OC-1/3/12/48/192, STM-0/1/4/16/48), and OTN (OTU-1, OTU-2) interfaces. The NIC also supports Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and can be upgraded to support Next Generation SONET/SDH (VCAT, LCAS, GFP). The NIC Plus is the industry's first portable test instrument with Jitter and Wander testing from 1.5Mbps to 10.7Gbps.
The OWM (Optical Wavelength Manager) is a cost-effective SNMP-managed solution for optical monitoring of DWDM networks, accurately measuring the optical power, wavelength, and OSNR (Optical Signal to Noise Ratio) of 100 DWDM channels simultaneously with an update time of 10ms across the entire spectrum. With this capability the OWM can be used to predict failures in the DWDM network before valuable traffic is affected, as well as capturing problematic transient events on DWDM backbones invisible to most optical spectrum analyzers. The OWM can be used for network monitoring, troubleshooting, sectionalization, or as a circuit turn-up tool.
The LW Series(TM) are handheld fiber test products well suited for a wide range of fiber test, inspection and cleaning requirements. LW series products include visible laser source, optical power meter, safe fiber inspection scope, dual-wavelength laser source, OTDR, fiber phone, and loss/return loss measurement set. They are available as individual products or as LW Kits, packaged in hard transit cases.
Digital Lightwave's portable dispersion analyzers provide all the measurements required to qualify the health of optical-fiber infrastructure. The instruments can accurately measure Chromatic Dispersion, Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) and Spectral Attenuation.
Customers in the Northeast should contact ATM directly for Digital Lightwave product information or for a sales quote. Advanced Technical Marketing 119 Cherry Hill Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054 973-257-9332 or toll-free 1-800-310-8805 http://www.atm1.com
