Toshiba Announces First Satellite(R) P105 Desktop Replacement Notebook With External TV Tuner

Line-Up of 17-Inch Diagonal Widescreen Notebooks Also Features Latest

Gaming Notebook at Retail and Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo Throughout

Toshiba Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today introduced its latest Satellite(R) P105 series desktop replacement notebooks with models for multimedia, gaming and powerful productivity, including the first in the series with an external TV tuner.

Featuring the line's standard 17-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite(TM) display in a 7.1-pound(1) chassis, the Satellite P105-S6084 includes a USB external TV tuner for playing live TV from an antenna or cable or satellite set-top box, as well as Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005 for recording your favorite TV programming for later viewing. The estimated single unit price (ESUP) is $1499.99(2).

In addition, Toshiba has enhanced its popular gaming notebook with the Satellite P105-S9312 model which features a faster Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo Processor(3), double the memory(4)at 2048MB DDR2 533 MHz, increased hard drive(5) of 200GB, and added Bluetooth(R) v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices such as wireless gaming controls and other accessories. The unit incorporates the NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7900 GS card with 256MB of graphics(6) for playing the latest 3D games and multimedia programs, as well as the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. Now featuring a Sunlight Copper lid, the ESUP remains $1999.99(2).

Stylish and portable, the Satellite P105 notebooks feature Intel Core Duo processors throughout, reducing power consumption while boosting overall performance from graphics to wireless(7) capabilities. Other features in the line include:

-- a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in

up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVD's

storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either

DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats;

-- built-in harman/kardon(R) stereo speakers for a rich audio

experience.

-- DDR2 MHz memory(4) for better performance of productivity

applications and music, picture and video multimedia files;

-- 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and

downloads;

-- full-size keyboard with 10-key pad for easy numerical entry.

Designed for optimum productivity in a portable form factor, the Satellite P105-S6024 includes all the features above with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005 for an ESUP of $1,199.99(2).

A fingerprint reader for secure access management and convenient replacement of typed passwords is included on the Satellite P105-S6084 and the Satellite P105-S9312. The Satellite P105-S9312 also features a Dual Mode touch pad, providing one-tap short cuts to launch e-mail, an Internet browser and other selected programs.

Satellite P105 series notebooks come with a standard one-year limited warranty(8). The standard limited warranty includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may use any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service turnaround. Customers can also choose to upgrade the notebook's service plans, including up to four years of extended service plans.

To help stay connected while traveling for business or leisure, the Satellite P105 line integrates Toshiba ConfigFree(R) software, the company's intuitive graphic connectivity management utility for optimum wireless access.

Included Microsoft Office OneNote(TM) 2003 software enables users to better capture, organize, find and share notes gathered from e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes, the Web and other sources. OneNote captures virtually any type of information -- ranging from typed notes to audio -- in a single convenient place.

The Satellite P105 notebooks will be available from major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide in July.
