StrikeIron Inc., provider of the Web Services Marketplace, today announced that they have partnered with DataUnison to bring eBay Market research data to the desktop, within applications, mobile devices, or anywhere else a Web service can be consumed by adding it to the Web Services Marketplace. The DataUnison eBay Research Web Service returns both aggregated and detailed analysis on items being sold on eBay for the last 90 days of sales. Users can evaluate the historical pricing and performance of any item on eBay as well as look at Seller-specific competitive research. It gives eBay sellers the ability to filter results by their own, and other eBay seller IDs to gain understanding into the competitive landscape of the market. As part of StrikeIron's Marketplace, the service is priced on a pay-as-you go model and allows subscribers to take advantage of all of the services and tools in the Marketplace.
"eBay has over 190 million registered users and has billions of dollars of transactions each year," said David Frey, Marketing and Business Development at DataUnison. "With 6 million new items added daily, the research provided in the DataUnison eBay Research Web Service provides the online marketing data sellers are looking for and gives them a competitive advantage. This amazingly flexible technology allows you to quickly and easily integrate buying and selling trends into any Web or desktop application."
The DataUnison Research Web Service is a simple way to integrate eBay Research into any application. Users can view and analyze top products, average start prices, average sold prices and much more. The Web Service allows you to access eBay's 33 main categories of listings as well as all of their sub-categories. In addition, StrikeIron has created a series of Workbook templates freely available that can be invoked inside of Excel using the StrikeIron OnDemand for Excel add-in and can be the starting point for sophisticated seller analysis. The workbook templates allow users to build rich-client spreadsheets that incorporate data feeds from DataUnison and other live data sources with no programming required, enabling composite applications to be built within Excel in minutes.
"Web services are continuing to pave the software landscape for users to gain access to any kind of data," said Bob Brauer, President and CEO of StrikeIron. "Solutions like DataUnison's eBay Research Web Service are an ideal way for power sellers to cost-effectively leverage the vast amount of data from eBay and improve their selling process. This is a key offering for sellers to gather critical intelligence on buying and selling trends in the eBay marketplace."
