NEW YORK, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- 4Connections, a New Jersey and New York metro dark fiber provider announces today at the Capacity USA 2006 Conference, a well-known industry event attended by senior telecommunications executives, that 4Connections will now offer FAST Services(SM), a new lit fiber offering that allows customers full control of their transport services, based on their own corporate network needs. By partnering with ADVA Optical Networking, a provider of Optical+Ethernet technology solutions, the two companies will ensure product interoperability and the highest level of service quality for mission-critical applications, including business continuity, disaster recovery, data center consolidation and remote processing. ADVA is supplying 4Connections with its full portfolio of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) and Ethernet access products, as well as product installation and maintenance services.
4Connections' FAST Services include consulting, designing and delivering solutions based on clients' individual needs for feeds, provisioning speed and technical networking diversity. For example, 4Connections and ADVA engineers will work with the customers' network team to determine the best optical solution to deliver Ethernet, ATM, TDM, ESCON, FC or FICON on Managed Wide Area Networks. With the feed requirements identified, 4Connections engineers will design a network solution offering with same-day provisioning, for any protocol and bit rate required. The team will then decide key elements to enhance and/or secure network diversity, such as selecting fiber, buffer size, mapping the most direct or secure route, determining the best equipment for the customer site, choosing the available points of building entry, determining environment requirements, selecting optical platforms and identifying carrier hotel access. From simple to complex network solutions, 4Connections' engineers will ensure that clients are making well-informed decisions, which are optimal for their network requirements, right down to the fiber slice.
"The 4 Connections' new offering solves a clear industry problem: the inability to build a corporate network according to specific, corporate network needs," states Michael Sevret, the Director of Sales of 4Connections. "With 4Connections' FAST Services, the customer is now in the 'network driver seat,' able to seamlessly communicate and run applications over private, secure or traditional public fiber routes and connect traffic to the carrier or carrier hotel of choice, without the need for disparate routing or costly network access fees. Furthermore, FAST Services offer customers same-day provisioning, a unique and highly-desired service for network deployment."
"ADVA brings a comprehensive list of industry-leading storage and corporate networking solutions to the table," stated Brian P. McCann, the chief marketing and strategy officer of ADVA. "ADVA's next-generation Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems have achieved broad industry certifications and we are able to resolve interoperability questions and qualification testing quickly and effectively, no matter the application or protocol. We also support large corporate network operators and managed service providers with industry-leading installation and maintenance services. We look forward to providing our products and services to the 4Connections customer base."
"Essentially we are giving every company in the New York metro area the ability to become its own local carrier," states Gil Santaliz, President of 4Connections. "Today, as our industry constantly changes and consolidates, enterprise clients want clarity and support; they want detailed and reliable insight into their network security, redundancy and flexibility. And as the client grows, the company's network capacity must be able to grow as well. A solid, secure fiber infrastructure is key for delivering next generation services seamlessly over Wide Area Networks."
"And with this new, enhanced technology comes increased security," continues Michael Torchia, Vice President of Operations for 4Connections. "A company will now be able to control its exact, point-to-point route, circumvent high-risk areas, and still access its international destinations, if, when and at what speed the company demands. 4Connections' FAST Services is defining a new horizon for corporate network management."
