Shanghai Telecom Deploys Caspian for Strategic Network Backbone Deployment; Caspian Flow-State Quality of Service Technology Key to Future Multimedia Services

Caspian, the leading provider of multimedia traffic control solutions for IP and multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) networks, today announced that Shanghai Telecom Co. Ltd., a provincial corporation of China Telecom Corporation, has chosen Caspian A120 Media Controllers for deployment in its backbone network. The Caspian deployment is helping the carrier improve the performance of its network peering points and increase effective bandwidth available per user. In addition, Shanghai Telecom's customers can now experience a higher quality for their voice, video, and multimedia services.

Shanghai Telecom provides a wide range of fixed-line and mobile services for residential and business subscribers in markets that are experiencing rapid growth. Caspian Media Controllers optimize delivery of IP multimedia services by incorporating Flow-State QoS policy management capabilities at strategic locations in the carrier's 10-Gbps network backbone.
