Guardian Technologies Expands Market Reach Through Distribution Agreement With Ultimate Medical Services (UMS); PremierScan Imaging Installs Guardian's FlowPoint(TM) Radiology Information System

Guardian Technologies International, Inc. (OTCBB:GDTI), a leading provider of high-performance security and healthcare solutions based on "Intelligent Imaging Informatics" (3i(TM)), today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Ultimate Medical Services Inc. that will make UMS the first distributor to offer Guardian's industry-leading healthcare solutions and future imaging informatics solutions in the United States. UMS, based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a value-added reseller offering a full range of medical-imaging modalities and best-of-breed technologies and services to the nation's healthcare industry.
Additionally, Guardian Technologies is pleased to announce that PremierScan Imaging, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, California, will install and go live with Guardian's FlowPoint(TM) 6.1 solution, under a fee-for-service model which provides a cost-effective structure for financing Guardian's Web-based technology., PremierScan has recently updated and modernized its entire facility with the latest in CT and MRI imaging systems and information technologies. The FlowPoint(TM) radiology information management system will streamline the workflow process to eliminate unnecessary costs and improve patient care.
"Approximately 30 days into our contract with Guardian, PremierScan has already experienced a reduction in costs through the simplification of operations," said Tim Cassady, Chief Operating Officer of PremierScan. "FlowPoint has eliminated paper from the workflow process, improved and streamlined workflow, and reduced redundancy and rework, while eliminating possible errors. In addition, FlowPoint has had a major impact on improving facility operations. The system is fully integrated with our imaging equipment and has simplified scanner operations, allowing our technologists to focus on patient care."
UMS will offer FlowPoint(TM) 6.1, Guardian's integrated, Web-based radiology information system that enables healthcare enterprises to combine patient medical data and radiology images into a single digital record. FlowPoint(TM) 6.1 provides for improved patient care, reductions in potential medical errors, and lower administrative costs. As part of the agreement, UMS will also offer customer service, installation, and training support for FlowPoint(TM) customers.
