Alienware to Redefine Digital Home Entertainment

MIAMI, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Alienware, the leading manufacturer of high- performance computer desktop, mobile, and professional systems announced today that it has begun shipping its new line of DHS digital home entertainment systems. DHS systems feature Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition 2004, which integrates the functionality of individual A/V components into a single unit, complete with a common user interface and remote control.

Alienware's new line offers an innovative multimedia package with the ability to store, playback, and burn CDs and DVDs, organize digital photos, record, pause and playback live TV similar to TiVo(R) or Replay(R), pause live FM radio broadcasts, play games, and download thousands of movie titles and music tracks on-demand. DHS systems feature a horizontal form factor with an ultra-quiet chassis which fits easily into any existing home entertainment center.

DHS systems offer Alienware's award-winning performance powered by Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processors with HT Technology starting at 2.8GHz, high performance graphics from ATI Technologies and with Intel's D865PERLK desktop board, 5.1 Dolby(R) Digital Surround sound and Gigabit Ethernet. Full-featured systems starting around $1,899.

Alienware DHS systems will begin shipping only in the United States and will be offered in Europe shortly after.
