FlexStor-NAS Products Also Now Support 750GB Hard Drives, Clustering, NAS Gateway Functionality and Storage Scalability to More Than 100TB
Dynamic Network Factory, Inc. (DNF), a leading maker of high-performance network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SANs), RAID and iSCSI systems, today introduced new versions of its FlexStor-NAS(TM) product line featuring Microsoft's award-winning Windows Storage Server R2 platform. DNF also announced that the FlexStor-NAS systems will incorporate the latest generation of Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors starting next month.
Other major NAS upgrades announced today include support for clusters and NAS gateway functionality, and storage scalability to more than 100TB for DNF's modular FlexStor-NAS systems and up to 30TB in a single chassis for its integrated FlexStor-NAS systems. In addition, serial ATA based FlexStor-NAS configurations are now available with support for 750GB hard drives and dual-parity RAID 6 for optimum fault tolerance.
"DNF is committed to delivering all the scalability and performance customers demand from NAS, without the high cost of ownership," said Mo Tahmasebi, CEO of DNF. "Our value-driven, Windows-based NAS solutions demonstrate that commitment, with market-leading features that combine to provide the ultimate answer to our customers' next-generation storage challenges."
With the latest version of Windows Storage Server, share indexing and desktop performance have improved significantly. In addition, with Single Instance Storage (SIS) built into the file server, system level intelligence eliminates duplicate files and saves disk space across the file server. Enhanced NFS support and performance also lets organizations with heterogeneous computing environments use a single file server to manage Windows, Unix and Linux clients.
The powerful new Woodcrest chipset also delivers improved performance to the DNF NAS product line. At the same time, Woodcrest significantly decreases power consumption to offer substantial cost savings.
All SATA-based FlexStor-NAS systems also now support 750GB hard drives. In addition, SAS support will be available with the integrated FlexStor-NAS products in the third quarter of 2006, and with the modular FlexStor-NAS products in the fourth quarter.
Pricing for the FlexStor-NAS product line starts at $4,000. For an extended version of this announcement, please visit:
