LiteScape Introduces Agnostic Integration Solution With Microsoft Live Communicator for WebEx and Live Meeting

Posted on: Tuesday, 11 July 2006, 09:00 CDT

LiteScape Technologies, Inc. (www.litescape.com), a leading software developer that enhances the value of IP telephony, today announced that it has released technology to support Microsoft Live Communicator which dramatically reduces phone tag and increases efficiency in employee communications. LiteScape is an official Microsoft Independent Software Vendor (ISV).

"By integrating MS-LCS with WebEx and Live-Meeting, OnCast synchronizes the identity of phone users with that of desktop users and provides merged identification for participants in multi-party collaboration sessions," said Kayvan Alikhani, executive vice president of product development for LiteScape. "Using a pure SIP strategy, we are fully agnostic and capable of integration with any device."

The LiteScape Secure Profile Management (SPM) solution provides secure unified communications, leveraging existing enterprise directory infrastructure such as MS-Active-Directory and OpenLDAP to identify users. SPM works with existing identity management solutions, including MS-Passport, Netegrity and Liberty based solutions, and can use secure repositories such as encrypted MS-SQL server 2005 enterprise to store any system related information.

"LiteScape applications include presence aware accept / place / monitor / conference and call-deflect features to non-IP devices such as mobile phones," said LiteScape's executive vice president of sales and marketing Rod Hamlin. "We found that providing secure collaboration resolved numerous customer security pain points." SPM leverages multi-factory authentication using RFID, bio-metrics, magnetic, bar-code and smart cards at the edge of the network to dramatically increase the security and reliability of collaboration.

SPM provides integration with LiteScape Secure Personal Authentication Reader (SPAR) to automate and simplify the process of logging into communication devices. When used in conjunction with Cisco, Avaya, Polycom or other IP phones, SPM ensures encrypted (AES 256 supported) traffic transmission between the IP device and backend enterprise systems, including directory, calendaring, conferencing, presence servers and business application systems.
