Net Optics, the global leader in passive monitoring access for network security and monitoring, announced today its products are fully compliant with European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS). To help communicate RoHS compliance, Net Optics issued new part numbers for all RoHS compliant products.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances, an environmental directive adopted in February 2003 by the European Union, is intended to eliminate hazardous substances in manufactured goods that may enter the environment when the products reach end of life. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. The RoHS directive took effect on July 1, 2006.
"A key element of our vision statement is: 'Accept responsibility to preserve our environment and benefit our communities'," said Bob Shaw, CEO of Net Optics. "Reaching RoHS compliance not only supports our European customers and partners but benefits the global community with products that are better for our environment."
