Soccer fans around the world logged on to FIFAworldcup.com, the official Web site of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany(TM), in record numbers to follow the world's most popular sporting event during the past month. FIFAworldcup.com, which is currently available in nine languages, is jointly produced, marketed and hosted by FIFA and Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO).
Some of the site's most impressive traffic statistics from June 9 - July 9, 2006 include:
