SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Technology, Inc., the leader in industry standards-based wireless messaging and corporate data access, announced that its recently released GoodLink for Windows Mobile 2003 Software for Pocket PCs will be available on the new AT&T Wireless Audiovox PPC4100 Pocket PC, introduced today at the Microsoft Tech Ed Conference in San Diego, CA. Good will work to co-market and co-sell the combined messaging system with AT&T Wireless in order to provide enterprise customers with a powerful system that incorporates enhanced security features for conducting important business while on the go. GoodLink for Windows Mobile 2003 Software for Pocket PCs will be available on the PPC4100 when it begins shipping in June.
"Mobile work forces need real-time, reliable, and often global access to information in today's competitive world," said Michael Woodward, vice president of mobile professional solutions for AT&T Wireless. "Employees of our corporate customers will be able to use the Audiovox PPC4100 Pocket PC and GoodLink to stay connected whether at home or traveling in dozens of countries overseas."
In addition to providing cradle-free, two-way wireless synchronization with Microsoft Outlook, GoodLink for Windows Mobile software enables rich attachment downloads that can be edited with Microsoft Pocket Excel or Word or any of the thousands of third-party applications that are available for Microsoft's industry-standard mobile platform. GoodLink also raises the bar on security, advanced fleet management and administrative capabilities. Consistent with Good's commitment to standards-based interoperability, administrators can support multiple GoodLink devices -- powered by Windows Mobile software or other platforms -- on a variety of networks, all from a single GoodLink server. This flexibility allows IT to meet the diverse needs of mobile workforces, where heterogeneous device and carrier preferences are a fact of life.
"We began shipping GoodLink for Windows Mobile-based devices a week ago and already have seen great interest from new and existing enterprise customers who value our standards-based approach and centralized management capabilities," said Sue Forbes, Good's vice president of marketing. "With the introduction of the Audiovox PPC4100 Pocket PC, available exclusively through AT&T Wireless, we believe the mobile enterprise is poised to adopt standards- based devices and compatible wireless messaging and data access systems like GoodLink to empower their mobile workforces."
The PPC4100 is a tri-band (850/1800/1900 MHZ) GSM(TM)/GPRS Pocket PC from AT&T Wireless which allows users to enjoy international roaming capabilities and experience enhanced coverage and quality services from recent AT&T Wireless network upgrades. The device runs Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs on a 400 MHz, Intel XScale(R) processor to create a powerful mobile computing experience that combines the capabilities of a PDA with integrated wireless voice and data capabilities. With 64MB RAM and 64 ROM and built-in SD/MMC expansion slot, the PPC4100 also facilitates easy storage of and access to large files. When combined with GoodLink, the Audiovox PPC4100 delivers laptop-like power in a truly mobile wireless voice and data device.
Good will be demonstrating their GoodLink wireless messaging and corporate data access system on the Audiovox PPC4100 at both the Good Technology booth (#1330) as well as AT&T Wireless' booth (#917) during Microsoft's Tech Ed Show in San Diego, CA, May 23-28, 2004.
