AppSense Achieves Microsoft Gold Partner Status; Proves Competency in ISV/Software Solutions

Posted on: Tuesday, 18 July 2006, 09:00 CDT

AppSense, a leader in endpoint security for the enterprise, today announced that it has attained Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program, recognizing its position as a pre-eminent Microsoft specialist with a competency in ISV/Software Solutions. Through engagement with Microsoft, Microsoft Gold Certified Partners have in-depth access to a variety of exclusive resources and early product information. Resources include priority access to a support team of Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers, non-disclosure evaluation of new products and technologies, as well as planning tools and events to keep up to speed on the latest Microsoft product developments and future direction.

To achieve Gold Partner status AppSense was required to provide excellent customer references and demonstrate deep technical competency in implementing endpoint security systems within Microsoft environments. As part of the verification process, AppSense products were put through a number of demanding testing phases, achieving both "Certified for Windows Server 2003" and the recently added "Designed for Windows XP."

The Microsoft Gold accreditation is only awarded to partners that have a proven level of competence for their people, processes and services. In addition, Microsoft requires partners to re-qualify on an annual basis to ensure service levels and expertise remain consistently high.

AppSense Security offerings comprise two products that take a proactive approach to security, by protecting endpoints from malicious code, preventing unauthorized application use and preserving endpoint integrity. AppSense Application Manager and AppSense Environment Manager do not rely on knowing what types of threat are infiltrating an endpoint or indeed where they are arriving from. By combining application-level protection with self-healing user environments, AppSense is able to eliminate the risk of an unknown attack arriving from beyond the perimeter, while exercising the ability to lock down users and restore endpoint configuration changes.

Karl Noakes, Director of the Partner Development Group at Microsoft, said: "Customers are looking for partners that can help them bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities. They need to trust in someone that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, which have certified expertise as well as direct training and support from Microsoft, fit the bill. They can ensure that the customers have a great experience with our technologies. As a Microsoft Gold partner, AppSense can offer its customers the reassurance of a truly professional organization with the backing of Microsoft's resources."

"Gaining accreditation with Microsoft at such a high level is a real accomplishment by AppSense and a testament not only to our products, but our people as well," commented Charles Sharland, CEO, AppSense. "The benefits of Gold Partner status will allow AppSense to bring an even higher level of service to market and afford our customers unrivaled support, while giving us the tools for greater technical innovation across the board."
