Posted on: Tuesday, 18 July 2006, 09:00 CDT
IRVINE, Calif., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Avamar Technologies, Inc. a leading provider of enterprise data protection software, today announced that SearchStorage.com and Diogenes Analytical Laboratories, Inc. have named Avamar's Axion 3.5 to their highly coveted "shortlist." Based on rigorous testing of leading disk-to-disk technologies, Avamar was selected as one of only three vendors to receive this honor.
For this report, Diogenes Analytical Laboratories brought 13 storage products into the laboratory and ran them through extensive testing. Products were evaluated based on ease-of-use, manageability, standard features/functions and technical support systems. Analysis and findings are based on actual lab tests and product experience.
"The in-depth and detailed reviews in Diogenes' product reports allows IT consumers to gain valuable insight into products without having to spend the time and resources of bringing in those products for in-house testing," said Phil Goodwin, President of Diogenes Analytical Laboratories. "Avamar's Axion was selected as a shortlist winner because we judged it to have high-caliber functionality and capabilities. Other products may be considered for specific needs or situations, but shortlist candidates must meet a higher threshold."
"We are very pleased to be included in Diogenes' prestigious shortlist for disk-to-disk technologies," said Gail Greener, VP of Marketing for Avamar Technologies. "Customers know that not all products have the same level of quality and functionality, so having an independent team provide clear recommendations are invaluable. This award follows numerous industry and customer awards for Avamar and demonstrates our continued leadership in the data protection space."
