ShoZu Application Free at Sony Ericsson Fun & Downloads, Providing Fast & Easy Image Uploading for Camera Phones; ShoZu Being Promoted Directly By a Handset Manufacturer for the First Time

Posted on: Tuesday, 18 July 2006, 12:00 CDT

ShoZu Inc,, the leading provider of mobile media solutions for cellphones, announced today that owners of Sony Ericsson camera phones can now obtain ShoZu's free image uploading application directly from Sony Ericcson's online Fun & Downloads portal in 65 countries. Previously, the ShoZu application could be downloaded only from ShoZu's own site.

The distribution agreement will dramatically expand ShoZu's visibility among Sony Ericsson customers and simplify consumer access to the ShoZu service for sharing photos and videos captured with leading camera phones. Users can download the application either from their PCs or directly from their Sony Ericsson handsets.

The agreement also marks the first time that a handset manufacturer has agreed to promote the ShoZu application through its own channels.

"This agreement clearly demonstrates the value of ShoZu to handset manufacturers as a tool to attract and satisfy customers. It reflects the strong appeal of image sharing to the consumer as well as the ease-of-use and choice-of-destination advantages of ShoZu's open platform," said Dean Wood, ShoZu Vice President of Business Development. "By making ShoZu easier to find, Sony Ericsson will bring easy image uploading to thousands or even millions of additional consumers."

ShoZu's image sharing service enables users to transmit camera phone images faster, at a higher resolution, and to more destinations than any other method. Images can be sent to Buzznet, Flickr, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Textamerica, Webshots, popular blogging platforms, personal blog sites, and citizen photojournalism sites --- with new destinations being added on a regular basis --- without opening the mobile phone browser, suspending phone calls or other phone activities while the image is transferring, or having to start over if the connection is dropped.

The service also enables users to add descriptions and tags either before or after uploading, and receive and reply to online comments posted at the destination sites without waiting to get to their PCs..

ShoZu now supports 12 Sony Ericsson camera phones, including the new W810i and W900i Walkman(R) phones, as well as 36 other handsets listed at www.shozu.com/portal/tour.do?operation=showhandsets
