Tek-Tools Software Attains Principal Partner Status in the Sun Partner Advantage Program

Tek-Tools Software announced today that it is a Principal Partner in the Sun(SM) Partner Advantage Program, for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). Tek-Tools qualified for this level by meeting Sun's stringent criteria for excellence as a supplier of storage management solutions, and by committing to tight strategic and technical alignment with Sun. Tek-Tools Principal Partner status is the next step in what has been several years of working directly with StorageTek on various storage programs.

By achieving Principal Partner status, Tek-Tools joins the growing community of ISVs that are developing applications for the Sun platform. The benefits to Sun customers include access to a broader range of pre-tested, optimized solutions; investment protection and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) through collaborative engineering between Sun and its partners; and a higher level of predictability and support as Sun rolls out its latest technologies and software upgrades.

Specifically, Tek-Tools Profiler storage and backup resource management software runs and reports on the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System (OS). Profiler's Solaris agent provides users with performance information including port statistics, file analysis, and asset information such as firmware version and status. Built on an extensible architecture, the agent allows for new components and features to be dropped in on-the-fly. Its dynamic nature adds robustness to the Solaris agent, making it highly configurable giving users the ability to fine-tune specific functionality in order to balance the utilization of their resources and optimize the availability and performance of their Solaris servers.

Profiler is a modular, real-time and historical resource monitoring and reporting framework for servers, storage, connectivity, applications, and backup.
