Tickets.Com Kicks Off Internet Ticket Sales for Atlanta Silverbacks Soccer

Posted on: Thursday, 20 July 2006, 09:00 CDT

COSTA MESA, Calif., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Tickets.com, a leading provider of integrated ticketing solutions, kicked off online ticket sales for the Atlanta Silverbacks of the United Soccer League. Through its ProVenueMax licensed ticketing system, Tickets.com will provide advanced ticketing solutions, including its signature client-branded Internet engine, enabling online ticket sales on the Silverbacks' Web site. The Silverbacks will utilize Tickets.com's enhanced functionality, including Access Control, on-site kiosks and Tickets@Home(R).

The installation of a new ticketing system coincides with the opening of the Silverbacks' new stadium earlier this season. RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium opened on June 3 to a sold-out crowd and the Silverbacks Men's first win of the season. The stadium is home to exciting Atlanta Silverbacks Men's and Women's professional soccer. RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium is the centerpiece of the Silverbacks' world-class soccer complex being built at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.

"We are building the state-of-the-art stadium to help advance the sport of soccer in Atlanta and to bring a quality facility to the Atlanta soccer community. We knew the excitement of a new stadium and the increased attendance would require us to update our ticketing system. We wanted a system that would allow us to sell tickets online under our own brand," said Laura Fedrigo, director of marketing for the Atlanta Silverbacks.

As part of the ticket buying process, fans can now print their tickets from a home or office computer with Tickets.com's Tickets@Home functionality. The Silverbacks are also taking advantage of on-site kiosks for will call and 24/7 ticket sales, as well as Tickets.com's Access Control, which automates and speeds up the entry process and provides the soccer club with critical customer service information.

"We're looking forward to helping the Atlanta Silverbacks build brand recognition by delivering the technology that allows them to sell tickets online through their own Web site and provide fans with an easy, convenient ticket buying process," said Tim Zagorc, regional director of sales for Tickets.com. "The new stadium is a fantastic venue for enjoying soccer. Combined with the innovative ticketing technology now in place, the Silverbacks are positioned to deliver a great fan experience for every Silverbacks game."

In addition to watching action-packed soccer in the brand new RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium, the first 250 fans through the gate at every Silverbacks Men's and Silverbacks Women's home games will receive free giveaways.
