Digital Fountain, Inc., the leading provider of communications software enabling flawless delivery of content for networked entertainment applications, announced today the appointment of Jim Bennette as vice president of business development.

With more than 18 years of executive-level business development and sales experience, Bennette brings strategic leadership to Digital Fountain as it continues to expand its software solutions for networked entertainment applications including mobile multimedia, IPTV and Internet TV.

Digital Fountain is recognized for its patented technology, DF Raptor(TM) FEC, which protects content from common impairments, such as packet loss, latency and jitter. This protection ensures the flawless content delivery in networked entertainment applications. Standardized in 2005 by both 3GPP and DVB-H, the DF Raptor FEC technology allows for reliable and efficient delivery to the end-user without interruptions.

"With Jim's expertise establishing companies as market leaders and his ability to see new possibilities, we are eager to add his skills to our organization," said Charlie Oppenheimer, CEO of Digital Fountain. "Jim understands the industry's direction and will be integral to establishing Digital Fountain as the company that makes flawless mobile multimedia, IPTV and Internet TV a reality."

Prior to joining Digital Fountain, Bennette was the vice president of sales and business development for Akimbo Systems, a service provider for IP-based video-on-demand content delivery. Before Akimbo, Bennette was the vice president of business development for Orb Networks, the pioneering software developer that gives consumers instant access to their content anywhere. In each position, he led the company's revenue, distribution and business development activities.

"Digital Fountain's industry-changing technology is unmatched," said Bennette. "The company continues to set the standard for content quality delivery, and is expanding its reputation with organizations wanting to ensure reliable communications in new entertainment."
