Clearswift Delivers Simplicity for Enterprise Content Security

Building on its recent Frost and Sullivan Award for Technology Innovation, Clearswift continues its drive to simplify content security by launching a new enterprise class version of its e-mail security appliance. MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance version 2.4 delivers tangible benefits to customers of all sizes with the next generation of the award-winning SpamLogic engine. Targeted at enterprise customers, MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance incorporates a number of new features that specifically address the needs of organizations with multibox deployments.

MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance 2.4 offers a range of new features including additional anti-spam signature technology, multiappliance support, peer appliance Personal Message Management (PMM), integration with third-party archiving and encryption solutions, as well as innovative network configuration and diagnostic improvements.

The enhancements are designed to improve the manageability of MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance 2.4 and are focused on enhancing the administrators' experience. Clearswift is delivering improved diagnostic and management features that radically improve the network manageability for multibox deployments, including MIMEsweeper peer appliance replication which allows policy and configuration to be created and adapted on one appliance and then replicated across up to seven other appliances simultaneously.

This, combined with the MIMEsweeper peer appliance PMM, which allows a single appliance to be assigned responsibility for collecting details of messages held from other appliances and delivering one single digest to users, simplifies the process of ensuring security of all content.

Clearswift is also launching a new generation of its SpamLogic spam detection software, which is able to detect known automated spam profile signatures, also known as "bullets." Bullets are small, targeted signatures, based on a combination of message attributes unique to that spammer that are repeatable from one spam message to the next. The Appliance provides a sliding scale of detection capabilities according to customer needs.

Further new features include dual disposal actions that allow administrators to allow two actions when a content rule is triggered. For example, a suspect e-mail can be delivered and simultaneously routed to a server for archiving. Combined with the new Message Parking feature, which allows e-mails to be held back and delivered later in the day in order to avoid bandwidth problems, the Dual Disposal actions make an e-mail network perform more efficiently while maintaining security.
