Justice Digital Solutions And IBM Partner On Digital Arraignment Solution

Posted on: Thursday, 27 July 2006, 12:00 CDT

Justice Digital Solutions LLC (JDS) - the Simtrol, Inc. (OTCBB: SMRL) and Integrated Digital Systems joint venture - today announced it has partnered with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to advance JDS' Curiax Arraigner(TM) digital arraignment solution and support sales channel development.

Curiax Arraigner is a unified solution that tracks and records all prisoner case information - audio, video, documents, evidence, and electronic signatures into a digital case file that provides efficient processing from booking through arraignment and eliminates the inherent dangers associated with prisoner transport. The entire Arraigner solution pays for itself in approximately 12 to 18 months and continues to provide significant dollar savings and safety benefits for every year thereafter.

Curiax(TM) leverages IBM's powerful WebSphere platform - the leading software for on-demand business, delivering business integration, application and transaction infrastructure, portals, application transformation, mobile/speech middleware, product information management and e-commerce.

As an IBM WebSphere partner, IBM's technical experts assist JDS to increase Curiax functionality while IBM's Digital Media Group provides marketing and sales channel development support for JDS' product rollout.

Tom Robertson, IBM's Program Director for WebSphere Digital Media, commented: "JDS' Curiax platform is a perfect fit for IBM's digital media strategy for justice applications. People movement and meeting logistics in today's justice process create immense safety, time, cost, and information management challenges. We've seen the success and solid return on investment of this software in Oakland County, Michigan and believe JDS has a powerful, unique solution for this market. In addition to helping advance their software, IBM is working with Mainline Information Systems - our leading partner across eServer and storage product lines - to further develop the sales channel for this offering. We are actively working customer leads and are excited about this rollout."

Rick Egan, JDS' Chief Executive Officer, added: "IBM provides JDS world-class technology expertise to advance our product line and together with Mainline, aggressive sales channel development. Their WebSphere and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) offerings provide us a solid foundation for our product roadmap. SOA provides a flexible, robust infrastructure to model, assemble, deploy, and manage the business processes associated with the Curiax offering. This is important as we develop complementary, composite snap-on application modules for our platform. Examples of these include digital court recording, police interviewing, video visitation and others."
