WaveRider's Non-Line-of-Sight Products Enable Telecommunications Service Providers to Expand Their Networks and Increase Broadband Revenues and Services
Pacific Star Communications (PacStar), a Portland-based telecommunications company, and WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB:WAVC), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology, today announced the first regional implementation of new radio technologies that promise to bring enhanced broadband services to customers.
The first Pacific Star customer to purchase WaveRider products through the agreement is OnlineMac, a WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) in Oregon. Pacific Star is working closely with OnlineMac to expand the WISP's existing WaveRider network, which currently serves more than one hundred subscribers. Pacific Star will also market WaveRider's solutions to its ILEC, ISP, and CLEC customers throughout the Western United States and International markets.
"Our customers are increasingly using wireless solutions to expand their communications networks and to deliver the broadband services their subscribers want," said Mike Jaeger, Account Executive, Pacific Star Communications. "WaveRider's non-line-of-sight products are ideal for states like Oregon, Washington and Idaho and other areas with dense tree coverage that prohibits the use of many other wireless products. The WaveRider system enables service providers to extend broadband services to areas and customers that have few or no broadband options whatsoever, delivering a significant competitive edge to our clients."
"WaveRider's depth of experience in developing and deploying wireless networks for telecommunications companies, combined with its planned product development strategy has given us the confidence to recommend WaveRider's products to our customers now. We know WaveRider's systems will give our customers the performance they need today, and will meet their needs as they continue to grow," added Ampy Buchholz, Pacific Star's Director of Engineering.
"Pacific Star is known worldwide for delivering the services and equipment telecommunications companies need to build and expand their networks and capitalize on emerging business opportunities," said Charles Brown, Executive Vice President, WaveRider Communications Inc. "With customers in 50 states and in 50 countries around the world, Pacific Star is recognized by the global telecommunications industry for its expertise in deploying wireless networks and integrating the tools needed to use these networks to their full advantage."
