AutoProf Announces Microsoft Operations Manager Integration
Posted on: Wednesday, 26 May 2004, 06:00 CDT
PORTSMOUTH, N.H., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoProf today announces Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Management Packs for its Policy Maker Software Update, Policy Maker Professional, and Profile Maker products. These MOM Management Packs allow network administrators to monitor policy application on their critical servers, and to be notified by their unified monitoring system of any problems, saving companies the cost of server downtime and potential security breeches from failure to deploy critical security updates.
Together with Microsoft's Group Policy Management Pack (GPMP), the Policy Maker Management Pack (PMMP) provides comprehensive monitoring for Group Policy events including those from Policy Maker Professional and Policy Maker Software Update client-side extensions to Group Policy. Policy-based application of security updates and other important settings is a significant advance in both server and desktop management. Since server monitoring is a time-critical issue for administrators, it is essential that a management system also support monitoring.
The Profile Maker Management Pack (PRMP) provides for monitoring of Profile Maker server components, which implement a policy-based management framework for non-Active Directory networks. Profile Maker provides a migration and coexistence path for companies moving to the Policy Maker line of Group Policy-based management products. MOM integration ensures that the network administrator can be quickly notified if one of the critical server components of this system encounters a failure.
"We are excited to see the continuing growth of industry support for MOM as an extensible monitoring framework," said David Hamilton, director of the Enterprise Management Division at Microsoft. "By providing MOM Management Packs for its products, AutoProf is allowing administrators to more effectively manage their critical servers."
"Stability, health and performance monitoring is becoming a critical component for enterprise management," said Kevin Sullivan, Product Manager at AutoProf. "Our position and commitment to Microsoft technologies is once again emphasized with the release of PMMP and PRMP. Adding to our current Group Policy solutions, these MOM management packs will greatly enhance our customers' experience."
Availability
The new MOM management packs are currently available as a component of each product, all of which are available for download from the AutoProf web site.
