SEO-PR Co-Founders Offer Press Release SEO Workshop at Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference in San Jose

Posted on: Thursday, 3 August 2006, 15:00 CDT

News search engine optimization and Internet public relations experts will conduct half-day press release SEO training class at Marriott Hotel on Friday, August 11

Greg Jarboe and Jamie O'Donnell, the co-founders of SEO-PR, are offering a Press Release SEO Workshop at the Search Engine Strategies (SES) 2006 Conference & Expo in San Jose. The news search engine optimization and Internet public relations experts will conduct the half-day press release SEO training class on Friday, August 11, at the Marriott Hotel, which is connected to the McEnery Convention Center.

The Pew Internet & American Life Project says 50 million Americans get news online on a typical day. Yahoo News and Google News are in the top 10 news and media websites along with MSNBC, CNN.com, USA Today, The New York Times, and BBC News, according to Hitwise.

When people conduct a news search, they often find recent and relevant press releases along with articles from thousands of other news sources. A recent report from Outsell found that press releases have leapfrogged over trade publications to become the top news sources of knowledge workers.

This Press Release SEO Workshop is designed to help corporate communication departments, public relations agencies, and search engine optimization firms to harness these trends. During the press release SEO training class, attendees will learn how to:

-- Conduct keyword research to find at least three relevant terms that their target audiences are likely to use for a news search;

-- Edit a press release - particularly the headline and first two paragraphs - to improve news search engine rankings;

-- Add hyperlinks intended to help people find interesting, related content, when applicable;

-- Distribute a press release through the major news search engines and a variety of other channels; and

-- Measure results of an Internet public relations campaign whether the objective is to build brand awareness, increase web site traffic, generate sales leads, or sell products online.

The Press Release SEO Workshop will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. and is limited to 40 attendees. Participants should bring a wireless laptop computer. The hands-on portion of the press release SEO training class will also be more valuable if each participant can submit a recent press release or a draft press release in advance.

Go to http://searchenginestrategies.com/sew/summer06/training.html to view the training class schedule. To register for the supplemental training sessions, go to http://searchenginestrategies.com/sew/summer06/registration.html, email the SES Registration Department at registration@incisivemedia.com, or call (203) 295-0050. The fee to attend the half day workshop is $695.
