Networked Robotics Introduces Innovative System That Monitors Room and Device Temperatures From Anywhere in the World
Posted on: Thursday, 3 August 2006, 18:00 CDT
Networked Robotics today announced the introduction of Tempurity, a network-based, real-time temperature monitoring system, designed to collect temperatures over a wide area network.
The unique new system is designed to be used anywhere there is network. "The recent deaths attributed to the intense heat wave that enveloped much of the Midwest and East this past week could have been prevented," said Networked Robotics Founder and CEO Mark Woodford. "With the customizable temperature alarm capability of the Tempurity system, people most at risk [in the hotter areas] could have been reached before their homes became dangerously hot. With the increased availability of broadband connections and our network hardware it is now appropriate to automate the monitoring of temperatures almost anywhere."
Tempurity includes a unique alarm system in which a user is notified by text messaging or e-mail when the area or device to be monitored falls outside of a set temperature range. This can help assure that a loved one's home remains cool or warm, that a pet does not suffer from temperature extremes, or that a crucial scientific or manufacturing process remains within intended parameters. Tempurity was developed to meet FDA standards and works with rooms, ovens, incubators, refrigerators, freezers and commercial ultracold (below -55 degreesC) freezers.
Networked Robotics expects that the system will have a far-reaching impact in many fields, including research, energy, the food industry, and manufacturing. "Tempurity often reveals unexpected temperature patterns," said Mr. Woodford. "Customers are often surprised when they see their temperature data clearly graphed out."
About NETWORKED ROBOTICS
Networked Robotics was founded in 2004 by ex-Pfizer informatics researchers. The company designs network hardware and software to comply with FDA GMP & GLP standards and strictly specializes in network-based temperature monitoring. This narrow focus is the result of the company's complete devotion to providing the highest quality temperature monitoring solutions. The company's founders worked for almost 20 years in the automation of scientific processes for G.D.Searle & Co., Monsanto, Pharmacia, and Pfizer where they were responsible for the automation of experiments in inflammation.
