Laura Ring Joins Castile Ventures to Lead Strategic Relations; Castile Team Expands to Deploy Third Early-Stage It Fund

Castile Ventures has named Laura Ring to the new position of Vice President of Strategic Relations where she will leverage the firm's interactions with the entrepreneurial, business and investment communities. Laura will also be available to assist developing portfolio companies with their positioning and outreach. Castile manages three funds with investments including GeoTrust, whose e-commerce security products serve 100,000 customers and whose acquisition by VeriSign was recently announced; web-services performance management innovator Quantiva (acquired by NetScout Systems, NASDAQ: NTCT); VoIP market-leader Sonus Networks (NASDAQ: SONS); Stargus, a pre-eminent cable broadcast network solution provider, (acquired by C-COR, NASDAQ: CCBL); Ahura Corp, a leader in ultra-compact photonic systems where Castile was the lead investor; data compliance and security leader Network Intelligence; IP services quality solutions award-winner Brix Networks; and wireless LAN mobility trailblazer Trapeze Networks. Other market-transforming portfolio companies include ASPEED, Aurora Networks, Neah Power, Optiant, Sandbridge Technologies and SilverStorm Technologies.

Laura's strong network in the high tech and business community results from having served as the Executive Director of the Mass Networks Communications Council (formerly the Mass Telecom Council), the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Application Service Provider Industry Consortium (now Comptia). She has remained connected to MIT's entrepreneurial community since graduating from the Sloan school with a MS in Finance and Operations.
