AT&Amp;T Secures New Three-Year Data Services Contract With First Financial Bank N.A.
Posted on: Friday, 4 August 2006, 09:00 CDT
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new data services contract with First Financial Bank N.A., an Indiana-based banking and financial services provider with 47 full-service banking centers and 95 FirstPlus ATMs throughout the state. Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T Indiana will implement a managed data network solution at all branch locations, using Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Private Network Transport (PNT). The services will deliver expanded bandwidth, as well as added redundancy and security to the bank's private network.
These services will also result in faster and more secure access to account information via the converged network infrastructure. Additionally, this solution will provide the bank with the increased bandwidth that is needed in order to merge its existing networks and to support private and public software applications. Through an MPLS-based Internet Protocol (IP) network, the enhanced solution will provide a unified and centralized wide area network (WAN) infrastructure, supporting the transport of data from the hub location to any bank branch. AT&T will manage the network, allowing the bank to consolidate its IT resources and deliver improved customer service.
"The solution provided by AT&T will help us increase the security of our data by delivering a unified network with expanded bandwidth and redundancy," said Mark Toebbe, chief technology officer, First Financial Bank. "Our customers will experience the highest levels of security, and our employees will experience greater levels of efficiency when accessing account information online and internally."
