Electronics Retailer Best Buy Offers EarthLink trueVoice(SM) Internet Phone Service

ATLANTA, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EarthLink , the nation's next generation Internet service provider (ISP) today announced an agreement to make EarthLink trueVoice(SM) available in Best Buy retail stores. EarthLink trueVoice(SM) is an alternative to traditional phone service that uses a high-speed Internet connection to let consumers send and receive telephone calls.
Best Buy customers with a home broadband connection can buy EarthLink trueVoice(SM) in an easy-to-use kit that contains EarthLink's Internet phone service and a Linksys Phone Adapter (SPA2002-ER) or Wireless-G Router with 2 Phone Ports (WRT54GP2-ER).

When consumers sign up for EarthLink trueVoice(SM), they can enjoy unlimited local and long distance calling on their phones in the continental United States and Canada. Some of the standard features that are available at no extra charge include voicemail, three-way calling, and call forwarding as well as e911 service. Plus many of those features can be activated or controlled by using the myVoice portal.
EarthLink trueVoice(SM) is compatible with any high-speed connection and can be installed in minutes to work on any touch-tone phone. Retail consumers will be able to choose between two types of EarthLink trueVoice(SM) start-up kits. One contains a Linksys Phone Adapter that works with a standard router, while the other includes a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router with a built-in phone adapter for home networking.
The Linksys Phone Adapter converts the analog telephone signal to a digital signal. Once consumers plug their phones into the Phone Adapter, the phone receives a dial tone and a high-quality connection.
Both kits provide products with two phone ports for connecting two standard home phones or fax machines.
