Curam Software, HP Deliver Social Enterprise Management Products

Posted on: Thursday, 10 August 2006, 21:00 CDT

HP and Curam Software, a provider of social enterprise management, or SEM, products, have teamed up to provide SEM services to public sector agencies worldwide, assisting them to more easily deliver online services to citizens.

The SEM suite comprises hardware, software and web services. The companies say it is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery by enabling agencies to simplify business processes and integrate new applications into a holistic citizen-centric overview.

Based on service-oriented architecture (SOA), open, and industry-standard systems, the applications represent an alternative to transfer and legacy mainframe systems.

SEM leverages commercial off-the-shelf products to transform as well as modernize health, human services, labor, and social security agencies. It is designed to cross agency boundaries, simplify policies, and integrate with existing technology.

"We look forward to empowering social enterprises to greatly improve their client services while reducing IT capital and operating costs," said Enrique Barkey, worldwide director of civilian agency solutions at HP.

As part of the agreement, Curam installed its business application suite on HP Integrity servers running the HP-UX 11i operating system.

HP says its Integrity servers provide the foundation for a scalable and adaptive social enterprise management infrastructure to handle thousands of cases simultaneously, with flexibility that responds automatically to changing caseload demands.
