IRVINE, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lantronix(R), Inc. , today announced its new SecureLinx(TM) SLC Console Manager product line, which provides secure, remote management of servers and other IT infrastructure equipment over an IP (Internet Protocol) network or dial-up connection. Regardless of where IT equipment is located, IT professionals and system administrators can use SecureLinx Console Managers to securely monitor and manage any device with a serial port, even when the network is down. Using familiar tools such as a secure browser or SSH (Secure Shell), this anytime, anywhere access enables faster isolation and resolution of problems, which translates into less downtime and reduced operational costs.
"By adding SecureLinx Console Managers to our well-established Secure Console Server line and complementary SecureLinx SLK Remote KVM(TM) products, we continue to expand our comprehensive portfolio of IT management products, enabling our customers to reduce the overall cost of locally and remotely managing a broad range of IT equipment," said Chris Humphrey, vice president of marketing for Lantronix. "With a 15-year heritage in connecting serial devices to networks, and more than 22 million ports connected to Lantronix products, we are the one-stop shop for IT professionals who are responsible for configuring and managing servers, devices and network-infrastructure equipment. Our SecureLinx products enable IT professionals and service providers to improve response time for network problems, reduce on-site servicing and unplanned downtime, and consolidate management of their IT equipment."
SecureLinx Console Managers provide local or remote, secure access to serial console management ports on a wide variety of IT and data-center equipment, including: Linux, Unix or Windows 2003 servers; routers; switches; private branch exchanges (PBXs); firewalls; universal power supplies (UPSs); and access-control devices. Many system administrators and IT professionals are challenged with the task of maintaining large numbers of diverse types of equipment in different racks in various locations. SecureLinx Console Managers come in 8-, 16-, 32-, and 48-port 1U rack-mountable models to help consolidate the management of disparate IT equipment, from small remote offices to larger network operating centers (NOCs) or enterprise data centers.
The SecureLinx family of remote management products brings new ease-of-use and ease-of-installation features to the market with all models offering a variety of power options, including single-AC, dual-AC, single-DC or dual-DC power. Management access is provided either through dual-redundant in-band connections (e.g., dual Ethernet management ports) or out-of-band management (i.e., through a dial-up modem) for always-available monitoring, maintenance or troubleshooting of servers and infrastructure equipment.
SecureLinx SLC Console Managers and SLK Remote KVM(TM) solutions both provide SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) support and e-mail event notification, remote firmware and configuration uploading, and a similar GUI (graphical user interface) design that provides a common "look and feel" and navigation. The SLC front panel features dual 32-bit PC card slots for expansion, an LCD display, a keypad for easy deployment (e.g., quickly setting the IP address), and unique "Detector" software that discovers all SLCs and SLKs on a network and can automatically assign IP addresses. All models offer robust security capabilities such as authentication, encryption and firewall features that protect end users' resources, while still providing the flexibility of remote access.
The SecureLinx SLC Console Managers are currently available and come in 8-port (model # SLC8), 16-port (model # SLC16), 32-port (model # SLC32) and 48-port (model # SLC48) variations.
