Symbol Technologies and Global Technology Systems (Honeywell Batteries) Announce Licensing Agreement

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. and NATICK, Mass., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Symbol Technologies, Inc. , The Enterprise Mobility Company(TM), and Global Technology Systems, Inc. (GTS), the manufacturer of Honeywell Batteries and a leader in Mobile Power Solutions, today announced that the companies have entered into a licensing agreement and have settled outstanding intellectual property disputes between the two companies.

Under the settlement agreement, Symbol and GTS agreed to the licensing of certain Symbol battery patents and copyrights. GTS will now be licensed to produce and sell certain aftermarket batteries worldwide. The specific terms of the settlement agreement are confidential.

Both Symbol and GTS believe that this agreement is in the best interests of their customers and shareholders.
