PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 2003--Dataram Corporation (Nasdaq:DRAM) announced a Support Services Agreement with SGI (NYSE:SGI) covering newly released Dataram memory upgrades for the SGI Altix 3000 family of servers and superclusters. Under the terms of the agreement, SGI will provide support services to customers using Dataram's memory designed for Altix 3000 systems.
Altix 3000 systems combine SGI(R) NUMAflex(TM) shared-memory architecture with Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 processors and the Linux(R) operating system to enable global shared memory, a first for Linux OS-based computing. Ready for immediate shipment, the 4GB upgrade--DRGA3700/4096--consists of eight 512MB DIMMs and the 8GB upgrade--DRGA3700/8192--is made up of eight 1GB DIMMs. Dataram memory has been tested and qualified by SGI for use in the Altix 3000 systems. All Dataram memory comes with a Lifetime Warranty. Aside from SGI's semiconductor vendors, Dataram is the only memory manufacturer authorized by SGI to offer memory for these systems.
The SGI(R) Altix(TM) 3300 server offers midrange configurations with 4, 8, or 12 Itanium 2 processors with 2GB of memory, with scalability up to 96GB of memory. The SGI(R) Altix(TM) 3700 supercluster offers global shared memory scaling to hundreds of processors and over 2TB (terabyte) of memory today, with future scalability to 2,048 processors and 16TB of global shared memory.
"This Support Services Agreement further underscores SGI's confidence in our memory products and Dataram's commitment to being a leader in the high-performance memory market," stated Jeff Goldenbaum, Dataram's Product Manager. "This agreement, in conjunction with an existing agreement authorizing Dataram to offer memory for the visual workstation, advanced visualization and server products systems, we are able to satisfy the needs of customers who wish to take advantage of the significant cost savings Dataram has to offer - while maintaining the highest level of service and support from SGI."
Customers may contact the SGI Customer Support Center for technical assistance covered under the terms of the product warranty or support contract. Customers may also contact Dataram Customer Support for technical assistance and memory replacements or repairs.
Dataram's competitive pricing on authorized memory upgrades for SGI Altix 3000 servers, combined with fast delivery and SGI support services, provide customers with a seamless and worry-free total solution.
