Deadline: August 4, 2006

The Blues Music Foundation ( www.emplive.org/bmf ), will distribute $195,000 in proceeds from the "Salute to the Blues" 2003 benefit concert and resulting concert film to the general blues culture in 2006.

The foundation invites grant applications from 501(c)(3) organizations in the blues world for programs to further the celebration and preservation of the blues, promote blues education, assist individuals and/or organizations with special needs, and/or other worthy blues causes. The foundation will not fund individuals directly.

All grant applicants must provide documentation of U.S. nonprofit, tax-exempt status or foreign equivalent (private educational institutions must be nonprofit and meet these tax-exempt requirements). Applications are welcome from both U.S. and international organizations.

A matching contribution (in-kind or direct) is required for all grants awarded. The 2006 grant criteria and application forms are available at the Blues Music Foundation Web site.
