Digicon Receives Sun's Prestigious SunTone Certification for Managed Hosting and Co-Location Services

Posted on: Monday, 7 June 2004, 06:00 CDT

Digicon Corporation (www.digicon.com), a developer of network engineering and software development services for Federal and commercial clients, announced today that its Managed Hosting and Co-location Services have achieved certification under the SunTone(SM) program. As a premier provider of IT services, Digicon's procedures have passed a rigorous review process to ensure that it meets the SunTone program's best practices for high quality standards and management.

The SunTone Initiative, led by Sun Microsystems, is a collaborative industry effort to define best practices and audit solution provider infrastructure, operational practices, hardware, software and overall service delivery. SunTone certification provides a quality "seal of approval," confirming that Digicon's Managed Hosting and Co-location Services meet stringent scalability, availability, reliability and performance standards necessary for quality deployment of network-based IT services or applications. Customers can be confident that Digicon's Managed Hosting and Co-location Services have met the initiative's high quality standards.

Digicon's Managed Hosting Services are comprised of a comprehensive portfolio of "best-of-class" solutions including:

-- 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) integrated with world-class Data Center

-- Site architecture, development, migration, and implementation

-- Network, server, performance, security, and application monitoring and management

-- Managed security

-- Enterprise storage solutions

-- Load balancing

-- Backup and recovery solutions

-- Network and systems administration services

-- Disaster recovery and avoidance

-- Internet Connectivity (ISP), Co-location, E-mail, and Web site hosting

Digicon's Co-location Services platform provides a cost-effective and highly specialized way for customers to operate their business-critical hardware and services in a data center that is SunTone certified for Co-location Services. These services are designed for organizations that have the capability and desire to manage a server but need the enhanced network capacity, performance and special equipment protection to guarantee its availability. Server co-location eliminates the need to build a private infrastructure while providing direct backbone connectivity to crucial services.

"Receiving SunTone certification underscores our commitment to provide high quality solutions and services to our customers," said Randy Luten, Vice President of Operations for Digicon Corporation. "We have invested heavily in the scalability, security and stability of our Managed Hosting and Co-location Services and are proud to be a member of the SunTone certified community."

"We congratulate Digicon on earning SunTone certification," said Terry Erdle, vice president of Sun Services Marketing and Strategy at Sun Microsystems, Inc. "By achieving SunTone certification for its Managed Hosting and Co-location Services, Digicon has passed a rigorous review process and customers can be confident that Digicon's solutions are delivered and managed according to the industry best practices and policies of the SunTone Initiative."
