Ipanema Launches Tele-Acceleration Module For Enhanced WAN Application Traffic Management

Ipanema Technologies, the leader in application traffic management systems for wide area networks, today announced its Tele-Acceleration module, a cost-effective solution that uses patented technology to optimize applications on large networks without requiring a device at each site.

Unlike existing solutions, Ipanema's Tele-Acceleration uses a unique approach to TCP acceleration that speeds up the TCP protocol at the source without necessitating another device at the destination site.

TCP acceleration implementations focus on solving some TCP limitations such as the latency associated with opening and closing TCP sessions. However, none address the most common cause of low performance of TCP-based applications: TCP's own calculation of the "optimal" session throughput.
