Parvus to Display Network-Centric Communication and Computing Solutions at AFCEA LandWarNet Conference; Parvus to Exhibit Wrist-Wearable Computer, Ruggedized Cisco Mobile IP Router, and Vehicle Processor/Display Systems

Posted on: Tuesday, 22 August 2006, 12:00 CDT

Parvus Corp. will be displaying new network communication and computing products at the Broward County Convention Center (booth #1336) Aug. 22-24, as part of the Armed Forces Communication Electronics Association (AFCEA) Technology Showcase being held in conjunction with the 2006 LandWarNet Conference.

A Corporate Member of AFCEA and Advanced Technology Partner (ATP) of Cisco Systems, Parvus will be showcasing Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) technologies designed to support military net-centric operations:

DURAMAR 1000 IP ROUTER

The DuraMAR(TM) 1000 is a rugged Mobile IP (Internet Protocol) router based on Cisco Systems' IOS(R) software and 3200 series routing technologies. Ruggedized for deployment onboard aircraft, naval, and land vehicles, the DuraMAR enables defense systems integrators to implement a wide range of situational awareness and in-vehicle networking applications, ranging from wireless Internet access, Voice over IP (VoIP), streaming video surveillance, and smart vehicle diagnostics.

ZYPAD WEARABLE COMPUTER

The Zypad(TM) WL 1000 is a wrist-wearable computer flexibly designed to give instant access to computing capabilities while conveniently and ergonomically being worn on the wrist. Featuring hands-free operation, robust wireless capabilities (802.11b/g, Bluetooth), Windows CE/Linux operating systems, and built-in GPS tracking, the versatile Zypad computer serves as a compelling solution for government and civilian applications.

DURACOR 810 VEHICLE COMPUTER

The DuraCOR 810 is a rugged processor system designed for high reliability applications requiring MIL-STD-810 environmental compliance. Mechanically designed with considerations for dust, water, EMI/EMC, corrosion resistance, mobility, and IP66/67 ingress protection, this field-ready computer integrates a low-power 1.4GHz Pentium-M processor (equivalent to a 2.8GHz Pentium 4) together with a MIL-STD-704/1275 compliant power supply and a pre-loaded Linux or Windows XP Embedded operating system.

Locking MIL-grade circular connectors are used, including hardened RJ-45 Ethernet and USB connector that provide easy field/lab connectivity and system configuration support. Standard PC functionality is implemented, including video controller, audio codec, IDE, and COM ports.

DURAVIS LCD DISPLAYS

The DuraVIS family of rugged flat panel displays features daylight readability, lightweight mechanical chassis, and anti-glare protective covers for impact protection and explosive decompression. Designed to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 environmental standards, these rugged COTS flat panels incorporate a hardened mechanical design well suited for avionics, military, vehicular and other high reliability applications.
