Sendmail to Deliver Message Management Software Worldwide With HP

Sendmail, Inc. has signed a worldwide reseller agreement with HP. Under the terms of the agreement, Sendmail's message management products will be offered by HP's services and consulting group to customers worldwide. Also available via HP's reseller network, these products include Sendmail's Mailstream Manager for content and message flow security and Mailcenter for carrier-scale storage and access.

Also available today is a new soft bundle for customers, the HP and Sendmail Anti-Spam Solution, based on Sendmail's Mailstream Anti-spam Solution ("MAS"). It ships preconfigured on industry-standard HP ProLiant servers running Linux and will also be available on servers running Windows in Q3 2004. Customers have the choice of either two or four-way versions of the HP ProLiant server, which also comes with HP's full Care Pack service and support. This joint solution is available now in North America and Europe, and will roll out to additional markets later this year.

The Anti-Spam Solution complements Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and all other Internet standard email systems. It combines comprehensive spam management and the unique dynamic connection security delivered in Sendmail's MAS, with the stability and performance characteristics of the HP ProLiant servers.

Sendmail's Mailstream Anti-spam Solution provides an integrated and comprehensive approach to spam filtering. It combats spam messages beginning at the perimeter and extending its protection and management down to the user inbox.

The HP and Sendmail Anti-Spam Solution includes:

-- Sendmail Flow Control: which is designed to protect networks from Denial of Service attacks and address harvesting, and help manage the number of emails from a sender moving into or out of the network

-- Sendmail Switch: which is designed to provide secure remote routing management and reporting

-- Sendmail Intelligent Inbox: which allows administrators and end-users to create personal delivery filters to support filtering for blacklist and whitelist spam handling actions, all via an intuitive Web-based interface

-- Sendmail's Anti-spam Engine: which is designed to provide superior spam detection, accuracy and negligible false positive rates

-- HP ProLiant DL580 and 380 series servers: the ProLiant DL580 G2 is a four-way server that provides the high levels of performance demanded by today's compute-intensive applications. The ProLiant DL380 G3 is a dense two-way server line that combines high-performance technologies such as Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) to give customers more control and performance in the same space-saving form factor.

-- Support: HP Care Pack options for the ProLiant server and Web support from Sendmail. Additional levels of support and services will be available.

Pricing and availability:

Pricing will initially be in five tiers ranging from 100 to 10,000 users. The Anti-Spam Solution is available from HP resellers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
