CNT Chosen As Brocade OEM and Services Partner for Multiprotocol Router

MINNEAPOLIS, June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CNT(R) , the global expert in storage networking solutions, today announced that they are expanding their collaboration with Brocade to offer customers the new Brocade SilkWorm Multiprotocol Router, and are the first Brocade OEM and services partner to qualify the solution.

Brocade's Multiprotocol Router, together with CNT's UltraNet products, end-to-end lifecycle consulting, and implementation and support services, help customers extend the value of their current local and remote storage networks. This is accomplished by providing multi-protocol SAN routing services to improve resource utilization, reduce capital and operational costs and improve overall manageability of the enterprise storage network.
The Brocade SilkWorm Multiprotocol Router can connect devices between SAN fabrics without merging those fabrics, enabling secure, selective resource sharing among multiple SANs, while simplifying troubleshooting and fault isolation. By integrating these SAN routing capabilities into local and remote enterprise storage networks, the Multiprotocol Router helps build a flexible foundation for implementing emerging IT strategies like tiered storage/ Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and utility computing infrastructures within a familiar Brocade SAN environment.
The Multiprotocol Router, when used in combination with CNT's industry leading UltraNet products and pipelining technology, allows customers to extend disk and tape applications across multiple SANs, regardless of location. The SilkWorm Multiprotocol Router also augments CNT's current solutions to isolate faults within a SAN fabric. When combined with UltraNet solutions, the Multiprotocol Router allows logically separated SANs to communicate with each other over any distance at very high performance levels.
