Networks In Motion Names Shen Zhang Vice President of New Product Development; Company Expands Executive Management Team

Networks In Motion, the award-winning wireless navigation and location-based services (LBS) company, today announced that veteran wireless engineering director Shen Zhang has been named vice president of new product development.

Zhang's 18 years of experience encompasses wireless product development and support, including GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, CDMA and WCDMA technologies. In his new position, Zhang will lead all areas of new product development for Networks In Motion.

"Shen's role is to provide leadership for the entire lifecycle of product development and expansion to support the company's growth initiatives," said Doug Antone, president and CEO of Networks In Motion. "He brings a valuable mix of experience in designing and launching wireless products, developing new markets and channels, and managing international cross-functional engineering teams."

"Market demand for LBS services on mobile phones continues to grow, making this an exciting time to develop new products that telecommunications operators can offer their customers," Zhang said. "I look forward to leading the company's development and launch activities as we expand our product lines and market presence."

Most recently, Zhang served as director of customer product engineering at Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Irvine, Calif., where he led an effort that assembled engineering teams and established design centers in the United States, Korea, China and France. Previously, he was director of engineering at the Skyworks Dallas Design Center as well as senior software engineering manager for NEC America Inc.

Zhang was also a technical marketing manager for Mentor Graphics Corp. and has held software and QA lead positions for Mentor Graphics Corp., Silicon Compile Systems, Inc. and SWIFT GmbH, and was a lecturer at the University of Science and Technology of China.

He holds a master's degree in management of science and technology from the Oregon Graduate Institute, a master's degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
