American Fiber Systems Extends Nashville Fiber Optic Network; Company Continues to Meet Increased Demands of Nashville Businesses
Posted on: Wednesday, 30 August 2006, 12:00 CDT
American Fiber Systems (AFS), the leading provider of data networks to carriers and large enterprises, today announced the 9-mile expansion of its Nashville fiber optic network. This extension of its metro network was driven by a combination of a major customer win and by demand for an alternative fiber facilities based choice for communications services in the Nashville, TN market.
This customer win, coupled with growth strategies for Nashville, has increased the network by twenty percent and added a wireless Mobile Switching Center and a Carrier Point of Presence. The fiber optic route will give AFS access to several multi-tenant business parks where there is a consolidated demand for alternative fiber facilities based solutions in the Nashville area.
Large to medium enterprises will benefit from substantial long-term savings and considerable advantages including: alternative diverse fiber optic connectivity into each building, committed installation intervals and AFS's unparalleled service level agreements.
"AFS has always designed and built its metropolitan fiber optic network with our customers needs in mind. As a leading edge, customer-service driven company, with growth emphasis on converged applications of IP packets, we are a reliable alternative to major carriers directly or in load balancing of IP traffic," said Dave Rusin, President & CEO of AFS.
Customer demand has also contributed to AFS network expansions in the Salt Lake City, Cleveland, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Atlanta metro markets. This has resulted in strong sales growth for the company.
