Nastel Releases jKool Performance Monitor for J2EE Applications

Posted on: Tuesday, 5 September 2006, 09:00 CDT

MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Nastel Technologies, a leading global provider of performance monitoring and automation software for enterprise composite applications, today announced the general availability of the AutoPilot jKool(TM) Performance Monitor. The jKool Performance Monitor provides click-stream level visibility into the performance of any J2EE and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) application running in a J2EE environment to enable rapid detection and resolution of any performance problems.

"With the proliferation of J2EE and SOA applications, our customers tell us that they need end-to-end real time visibility into the performance of their web-based transactions that flow through the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) up to legacy systems," said David Mavashev, CEO of Nastel. "It is important to effectively monitor performance and rapidly identify potential performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and reliability of their business processes. We created jKool explicitly to meet that need, to help them minimize the risk of application performance degradations disrupting their business."

About jKool

jKool gives users a detailed click-by-click view of every application transaction process. jKool utilizes a unique time-based approach to performance monitoring and user activity tracking, treating every individual user's transaction flow as a discreet session. It traces the click-stream from beginning to end within the context of that user session, measuring the code path traversed by a user from Servlet through back end down to the number of milliseconds spent in each piece of application code. It also logs each user session historically, creating a comprehensive record of critical performance metrics such as response times and exceptions.

As a result, jKool allows users to see performance metrics in real time to troubleshoot problems instantly, or view a clear picture of exactly what was happening at any specific day and time to spot performance-affecting anomalies, trends and conditions. With its low-overhead design and out-of-the- box functionality, this makes jKool ideal for trouble-shooting applications in development and QA as well as tracking them in live production environments to reduce labor-intensive troubleshooting and costly maintenance post-deployment.

jKool's Key Features * Shows complete user click stream through web-based J2EE and SOA applications * Measures web-based transaction performance end to end * Provides real-time and historical point-in-time views on demand * Drills down to JMS, JDBC, method calls, servlets and sessions * Creates custom queries to locate sessions that exceed user-specified thresholds * Supports WebLogic, WebSphere Application Server and JBoss * Integrates seamlessly with Nastel AutoPilot for rules-based correlation and dynamic event generation Packaged to Meet User Needs
