PARIS, June 14, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today at Eurosatory 2004, the introduction of XMAX(tm), Xstream Mobile Access Xcelerator(tm) Unit for mobile data networks.
The EMS SATCOM Division's Xstream Mobile Access Xcelerator (XMAX) incorporates Cisco Router capability and Data Acceleration all in one package. The XMAX is an optimized secure networking solution for mobile communication users, particularly well suited for mobile operations in harsh environments. Developed with the military user in mind, the XMAX combines all of the components required to deploy a network solution, enabling many different network configurations.
EMS's XMAX provides Patented Data Compression and TCP Acceleration, increasing throughput at 100% to 400% with peaks up to 1000%, and integrated LAN connectivity. The XMAX also provides full Cisco compatibility and multi-network accessibility for any mobile application with the Cisco Mobile Access Router. WAN connectivity is provided by Multi Channel ISDN, Ethernet and Serial interfaces, allowing the XMAX to work with any mobile network provider.
"We are very pleased to now offer a complete network solution to our customers. Simplified installation, a compact rugged enclosure, and the ability of the XMAX to support multiple concurrent communication networks will empower our customers to remain in touch while on the move," said Jay McMillan, director of sales and marketing for EMS's SATCOM Land and Maritime groups.
