More Consumers Use DexOnline.Com(R) Than Any Other Local Online Search Site in 14-State Dex Region

Posted on: Wednesday, 6 September 2006, 09:00 CDT

CARY, N.C., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- R.H. Donnelley announced today for the tenth consecutive quarter more consumers in the 14-state Dex region chose DexOnline.com(R) (http://www.dexonline.com/) than any other local online search site to find the businesses that offer the goods and services they seek. According to the latest independent usage data from comScore, DexOnline.com generated the most local online searches, almost twice as many as the next closest competitor. R.H. Donnelley provides local online search services and printed directories under the Dex brand.

Following DexOnline.com, the top local online search sites in the Dex 14-state region include: Yahoo! (includes Yahoo! Yellow Pages and Yahoo! Local), SuperPages, Google Local and Yellowpages.com.

"The continued leadership of DexOnline reflects the strength of our local search experience," said Simon Greenman, senior vice president of digital strategy, innovation and products. "Consumers want relevant, accurate and complete information when searching for who sells the products and services they seek in their communities, and no one does it better than DexOnline.com."

Later this year, the company will launch the next generation of DexOnline.com, which will include new features such as draggable maps and map-based search, comparison-shopping pages, user-generated itineraries for multi-stop shopping, and personal contact lists to help consumers build personalized online yellow pages. This new site will also serve as the foundation for a next-generation site that will begin rolling out across the remaining R.H. Donnelley footprint in the first quarter of next year.

"Our goal is to connect advertisers with consumers, wherever and whenever they are looking to purchase goods and services," said Greenman. "With our trusted and established relationships with small- and medium-sized businesses across our markets, we are uniquely positioned to deliver a superior level of local content to consumers and deliver even greater value to advertisers."
