U.S. search engine giant Google Inc. is expanding its online news index to include stories published years ago, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
The California-based company, in its continuing bid to create new sales channels for traditional media and broaden the appeal of its own Web site, will offer articles from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time magazine and The Washington Post, among other news sources.
Further, Google's expanded index will include information storehouses such as LexisNexis, Factiva and HighBeam Research.
