DALLAS, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Siemens Subscriber Networks, Inc., a subsidiary of Siemens AG , whose products are distributed by Siemens AG, its affiliates and authorized resellers, announced that it ranks first in DSL worldwide market share, according to Dell'Oro Group Quarterly Access Report for Q1 2004. Its 17.9 percent global market share has topped all other vendors of DSL customer premises equipment (CPE), far ahead of competitors. Siemens continues this market leadership position by focusing on how it can improve service providers' time-to-profitability by providing broadband solutions built around trend-setting hardware, innovative software, and proven services expertise. It pioneered both DSL modem technology and cost-effective deployment processes. And to ensure its future market leadership, Siemens is driving the adoption of wireless gateway technology as the industry deployment standard.
"We are extremely pleased by this validation of our market leadership," said Paul Reitmeier, president of Siemens Subscriber Networks. "The data reflects our unceasing drive to deliver our SpeedStream(R) products both with extraordinary price-performance value and in volumes needed by some of the world's largest service providers. This helps service providers keep up with the accelerating DSL demands of their own markets while controlling costs. At the same time, SpeedStream products are designed for exceptional ease-of-use, so service providers can give their subscribers a great broadband experience right from the start."
