FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 2003--
ECS III allows Government Agencies to immediately purchase
Actelis' MetaLIGHT copper-based broadband solutions
Actelis Networks(R), a leading supplier of solutions that enable high performance symmetrical broadband services over local loop copper, today announced that its MetaLIGHT(R) solutions have been added to the National Institute of Health's ECS III Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). ECS III is a GWAC open for use by all government agencies as a pre-competed acquisition vehicle. The scope of the ECS III GWAC is to provide COTS desktop, laptop, handheld computing devices, workstations, software, networking equipment, commercial telecommunications equipment items related to telephony, scientific research workstations and other electronic devices and systems, software, related warranty and maintenance and support services to all federal, state and local government agencies.
Actelis' MetaLIGHT solutions will be available to the government market through its channel partner LTI DataComm (ECS III Contract # 263-03-D-0556), a veteran-owned small business and leader in providing strategic network solutions to the government. LTI Datacomm chose to distribute Actelis' MetaLIGHT solution after performing independent testing and receiving references from multiple government organizations that have tested and deployed MetaLIGHT systems.
"Government agencies are prime examples of organizations that can benefit from Actelis' MetaLIGHT copper-based broadband solutions," said Bruce Hammergren, vice president of North American sales, Actelis Networks. "Now that Actelis' MetaLIGHT solutions are on the ECS III Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), government agencies can simply and quickly deploy MetaLIGHT systems and expand their broadband network to sites only serviced by copper."
"Actelis' MetaLIGHT products are very well suited for the government market. Many government agencies have initiatives to increase broadband capacities throughout their infrastructure," said Leo Miller, president, LTI DataComm. "Actelis' MetaLIGHT systems will help government agencies fulfill these broadband initiatives at a cost much lower than any fiber solution."
Based on Actelis' patented MetaLOOP(TM) technology, the MetaLIGHT systems provide high-speed, fiber-quality, broadband services over the existing copper plant. MetaLIGHT systems are designed to complement a fiber network by allowing them to use their existing copper plant to deliver fiber quality broadband services to locations that only have access to copper. Simple to deploy without the need for loop pre-qualification, MetaLIGHT systems provide far superior rate, reach and reliability compared to other products on the market.
