GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 2003--
Collaboration Strengthens Acterna Channel Product Offering and
Provides Customers with New, Cost-Effective Options
Acterna today announced a strategic sales agreement with Ameritec Corporation, a leading manufacturer of network load generators. The deal provides Ameritec access to Acterna's global sales network and entitles Acterna to the exclusive international sales rights for Ameritec's products in Latin America and most of Europe and the Middle East. The agreement further enables Acterna customers to meet their communications test needs within the parameters of reduced capital spending budgets by providing scalable solutions that can adjust according to the customer's demands.
Intended for use during installation and maintenance, quality assurance, and research and development phases, Ameritec's portfolio of solutions effectively completes Acterna's strategic goal to provide manufacturers and operators with trusted, long-term partnering and proactive support with complete solutions for all core areas of the network lifecycle.
"This alliance will enable us to enhance our own offerings to customers with very powerful, scalable, and highly customizable solutions that other companies cannot offer," said Helmut Berg, president, Acterna Telecom Division. "Ameritec products bring our customers immediate benefits, and this alliance helps satisfy a demand within our current and targeted customer pools."
"We are extremely excited about our relationship with Acterna. By combining our products and expertise with Acterna's sales network, we can provide powerful solutions that deliver the right products at the right time, while fully leveraging the vast global resources of a company like Acterna," said Bill Speight, Ameritec president and COO. "Having our products available through this industry leader demonstrates that we not only have cutting-edge products, but our strategy of partnering with world class companies continues to be highly successful."
Highlighting the agreement is the latest addition to Ameritec's portfolio - the new Allegro Network Load Generator, the world's smallest, full-featured network load generator on the market launched earlier this year. With the Allegro, Acterna's customers have access to one of the world's most compact network load generators that, ounce-for-ounce, offers leading performance. Each Allegro unit can generate as many calls as the customer resources can support and can test load-related issues as well as fundamental network integrity issues.
Ameritec products will be immediately available to Acterna customers in Latin America and most of Europe and the Middle East.
