Seasoned Technology Executive to Lead Sales Effort, Partnering Strategy and Expansion into Utility Computing Market
Apparent Networks, Inc., the leading provider of network intelligence support software, today announced that Curt Fisher has joined the company in the capacity of executive vice president, Sales and Business Development.
"Curt has a proven record in selling technology and developing high-level relationships with leading information technology infrastructure providers," said Irfhan Rajani, president and CEO, Apparent Networks. "These qualities, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit and fit with Apparent Network's culture, make Curt the perfect addition to our executive team."
With over 20 years of senior sales and marketing experience with leading IT vendors, Fisher brings to Apparent Networks, strong business relationships which he will leverage to further accelerate sales of the AppareNet(TM) flagship product offering. AppareNet has already gained a loyal following among enterprise customers that use the software application to measure, assess and diagnose their internal networks and, in minutes, identify network bottlenecks and application performance faults. The May 2004 launch of AppareNet 2.0 Support has been enthusiastically greeted by software application vendors that can gain unprecedented visibility into their customers' networks and quickly and inexpensively determine whether their customers' technical problems are application or network based. If the problems are network-related, the precise cause and location of the problem will be identified, along with the specific diagnostics necessary to resolve the problem. Nowhere will this be more critical than in the world of utility computing whose recent emergence has driven keen strategic interest in Apparent Networks' proprietary and patented technology.
"AppareNet is positioned to be a de facto requirement for vendors offering utility/on-demand computing and VOIP," said Fisher. "The key to success in this market will be the formation of strategic partnerships. I am obviously enthusiastic about the opportunity to drive Apparent Networks into this next phase of growth by utilizing my experience and relationships with the major players in this space."
Prior to joining Apparent Networks, Fisher's resume included a corporate officer's role at Lucent where he directed their indirect Enterprise and Service Provider sales, strategic alliance efforts, and marketing functions, driving sales increases of 40 per cent per year. There he was also responsible for creating strategic alliances with IBM, Sun Microsystems, EMC and Oracle. As vice president, Partnership Marketing with AT&T Global Information Solutions, Fisher oversaw indirect sales growth from $500 million to $4 billion in only two years. Previously, Fisher spent seven years with Sun Microsystems in a number of senior channel and field sales management roles. He began his career in sales and marketing with IBM, where he received three Golden Circle awards. Fisher holds a B.S. in Engineering from University of Illinois and a certificate from Harvard's Advanced Management Program.
