Mobile Complete to Provide Virtual Developer Lab for Sprint; Mobile Complete's DeviceAnywhere.Com Will Power Remote Access for Application Developers

Posted on: Tuesday, 12 September 2006, 12:00 CDT

Mobile Complete today announced the launch of Sprint(R) Virtual Developer Lab, an online service (www.deviceanywhere.com/vdl/sprint) aimed at providing application developers with remote interactive access to Sprint (NYSE:S) wireless phones. Sprint is the first U.S. wireless carrier to launch this innovative developer-centric service for the wireless phone and PDA devices it offers.

Mobile Complete's market leading platform, called DeviceAnywhere.com (www.deviceanywhere.com) will power the Sprint(R) Virtual Developer Lab. Developers can install their applications, download content over-the-air, perform testing and porting activities, and validate the compatibility of their application content with both the handset as well as the handset's network. Content providers of video and games will be able to capture every frame and every pixel. Wallpapers and WAP providers will be able to see exactly how their images or site render and developers for audio will be able to hear their audio quality straight from the device.

"Sprint is continuing to blaze new trails in the area of mobile content and applications, with a special focus on developer services -- providing a platform to the developer community that alleviates developers' challenges and empowers them to bring mobile content to market faster, at lower cost and with higher quality," said Faraz Syed, Mobile Complete's CEO.

Developers will be required to register first with the Sprint Application Developer Program (accessible at developer.sprint.com) to gain access to the Sprint(R) VDL. Registered members of the Sprint Applications Developer Program will receive a complementary 10 hour block of time to trial the Sprint(R) VDL. At the conclusion of the trial period users will be charged $20/hr to continue the subscription. The Sprint(R) VDL will launch with a total of 50 handsets and is expected to grow to more than 100 handsets over the next several months. Through the Sprint(R) VDL, users will also have access to 'pre-commercial' devices, providing a mechanism for a much larger audience to build applications for the latest handsets.
