Apple Computer (Nasdaq: AAPL) employees are optimistic on their company's future, although voicing concerns about existing micromanagement and excessive turnover, New York research firm Vault has found in new employee surveys on the hardware giant. The survey results can be accessed on Vault.com.
Vault's employee surveys give investors and jobseekers insight into the company's business operations.
Says a former customer solutions specialist, "The business of the company is doing great especially with the iPod and their innovative designs. However just as any large corporation, the organization gets lost at the lower levels. The micromanagement needs to be put to a minimum and something needs to be done to increase retention."

A project manager writes, "Apple has its challenges for market share, and will never compete directly with Dell or HP. Instead, the focus is on creativity and the Digital Hub. Products such as the iPod are keeping us profitable. If Apple continues to develop innovative and quality products like the iPod, then the long term picture should be secure."
A former senior hardware engineer observes, "Surrounded by energetic, dedicated people. No end to challenges and cool projects. However, no end to hours and expectations beyond normal and lack of not only compensation and rewards but also simple thank-you's in some groups. A lot of 'Apple way', 'ole boys' club', often resistant to outside change and influence."
